Summary
This Plimus service update due for release on November 1st 2009 introduces a new improved default layout for BuyNow pages for all new contracts created after the activation date of this release, and an updated series of tutorials in our Learning Center.

What’s New in this Update?

Control Panel

Treatment of Free Orders: Orders for ‘free’ items (ie: those which are not transacted for a price), will no longer be recorded in sales statistics nor included in the control panel home page display. The processing of ‘free’ items will continute to require prior clearance through Plimus Vendor Support.

Buy Now/Order Page

BuyNow Template Pages: A fresher and more modern-looking template has been released in place of the current default BuyNow (Order) page. This should result in better conversion rates, as the new template is easier for customers to read and complete than the 'classic' blue Plimus BuyNow page. 

An email has been issued advising current users of this change.

This template will only be displayed for new contracts whose BuyNow pages reference the Plimus default layout.

The change will not affect existing pages that are using the classic blue Plimus BuyNow layout. It will also not apply to contracts using customized templates.

Vendors who wish to use the new layout in place of existing classic blue Plimus BuyNow pages, should simply add the following BuyNow parameter to the end of the existing default BuyNow url, so that it will then display the new template: &templateId=2

Vendors who wish to create new BuyNow pages but prefer to retain the original blue Plimus default layout should adopt one of the following courses of action:
1. Duplicate an existing BuyNow page that predates this release, or,
2. Add the following additional parameter to the end of the relevant url so that it references the classic design. This is done by simply adding the following additional parameter to the end of the existing BuyNow url as shown below: &templateId=1

Country Pull-Down Menus Now Translated  

The country selection pull-down menu on the BuyNow page is now automatically rendered in the relevant language.

No Support for Free Orders/Free Transactions

100% discount coupons are no longer supported as a tool for selling ‘free’ products.
Vendors who have been using this method in the past without prior clearance from Plimus Vendor Support will need to amend their offers accordingly or seek immediate clearance.

Subscription Renewals

Revised Subscription Reminder Email Text: The text message for the Subscription renewal reminder has been amended – it is now briefer and should improve subscription renewal rates.

Learning Center

Tutorials & Videos Updated and Expanded: The Plimus Learning Center has been reorganized.
New updated ‘how-to videos’ and step-by-step screenshot lessons have been added for beginners, explaining the setting up of Products, Contracts, BuyNow templates, Getting Affiliate Partners and working as an Affiliate with Plimus.

A new 'Main Features' section contains 'how-to' videos on some of the mainstream features of the Plimus platform, and the successful Take Charge series is now featured as a special sectiion containing audio-visual presentations based on the popular Webinar sessions that demonstrate how to increase your online revenues by 25% by simply following the steps and practical advice contained in the series.
