Product Update V1.25

This Plimus service update V1.25 due for release on August 22nd, 2010 provides new practical enhancements for Sellers and Shoppers.

BuyNow pages have been improved to include a dynamic VAT calculation line that automatically recalculates VAT according to the selected country. Coupons can now be offered for Subscription plan upgrades.

Shoppers are now able to manage their Subscription purchases through Plimus using multiple credit cards and benefit from an improved Shoppers’ Control Panel giving better access to account functions.

We have thoroughly tested the new enhancements in this release and are confident that you will enjoy the increased capabilities. Sellers utilizing extensive JavaScript in their BuyNow page template(s) might want to take a minute to ensure their pages are rendering properly. If you should discover any anomalies that cannot be fixed locally, please contact vendor support for assistance.

The next product release is scheduled for mid September.

BuyNow Page VAT Display with Dynamic Calculation

Where applicable, BuyNow pages now show the appropriate VAT amount on the first page of the purchase process in instances where payment details appear on that page. The VAT sum automatically changes according to customer’s country selection.

Shopper Control Panel Improvements

Shopper Can Manage Multiple Credit Cards

Plimus now lets Shoppers set up a selection of credit cards for use in purchasing products and services from Plimus Sellers.

Once logged into their Plimus account, Shoppers can add as many cards as they wish. This facility should help maintain the life of longer-term subscriptions that may run beyond the expiry date of a particular card, as it enables Shoppers to select an alternative card for ongoing payment purposes or add the details of a renewed card.

Different cards can be selected for purchases from different Sellers and details can be modified or updated at any time from the new screen shown below.

Balance Carry Over on Subscription Switch/Upgrade

When a subscription or recurring charge plan is switched or upgraded by a Shopper, any remaining balance standing to the Shopper’s benefit from the previous plan will be automatically carried over to the new plan.

Additional Subscription Payments Attempts (for Insufficient Funds)

When a subscription payment process fails due to ‘insufficient funds’ in the Shoppers credit card account, the Plimus system will automatically make a further 3 attempts at 5 day intervals to re-process the transaction before subscription cancellation takes place (by default after 15 days unless set to a different period by the Seller).

This should afford Sellers sufficient time in which to try to resolve the matter directly with customers and so ensure that the subscription continues.

New IPN to Advise on Switch/Upgrade Subscription Failures

An additional Instant Notification is now available to alert Sellers of payment failures on subscription switch/upgrade failures. The Instant Notification is termed ‘Switch Failure’ and now appears in the IPN list.

Order Items Shown by Name in PayPal

The Shoppers’ Control Panel home page features an additional column linking a specific payment method or credit card with the appropriate subscription product. Shoppers now have one-click access to manage credit cards, upgrade their subscription plans, as well as accessing invoices, order information and vendor sites.
