After you’ve gone to the trouble of creating your product, the last thing you need is for people to help themselves for free! That’s why Plimus Copy Protection helps you take charge of protecting your investment, at whatever level makes sense for your business.
Plimus Copy Protection is available at a series of levels:
Our simplest and most popular option. Simply provide us with a list of valid serial numbers and we will distribute them to your customers as purchases are made.
If you have a serial number generator that can be accessed online, simply provide us with the address and we’ll generate a serial number ‘on the fly’. This allows you to incorporate personal information of the buyer (e.g. email address) into your serial number to protect against sharing.
We’ll auto-generate a serial number for each sale and place it on our activation server. You then embed a simple HTTPS call into your application, causing the software to validate the serial number against our server. In this way, you can avoid altogether the infrastructure headaches of maintaining serial numbers and activation infrastructure.
You can integrate this directly into Plimus and we’ll ensure it is surfaced properly for your customers.
Plimus provides more robust DRM solutions through our partner Yummy Interactive. Yummy’s GameShield and SoftwareShield offerings provide easy-to-implement, yet secure, wrapping mechanisms that protect digital products. A hosted server completes activation processes for covered products, rendering them ready for immediate use. Plimus has negotiated a special discount arrangement with Yummy for Plimus customers. For more information contact our Sales team and they will be happy to provide full details.
Through a partnership with Uniloc USA, we offer a very deep copy protection and DRM solution called Plimloc. Embed routines into your software using the Uniloc API, and you can completely protect your software from piracy, copying and reverse-engineering. You can even create multiple licensing methods from a single code stream, using a certificate to dynamically unlock the right features.
Plimloc supports continuing validity checks, which are especially relevant for subscription-based products.
