There are three main concepts in the Plimus platform architecture:
Products - these are the items you have for sale, e.g. your product Mail Manager
Contracts - the price, terms and conditions on which you offer them for sale to customers, e.g. Mail Manager Home, Mail Manager Enterprise Edition
Settings - settings define the way you and your customers interact, through numerous options and preferences that enable you to precisely tailor your sale offerings, and manage your buyer's purchase transaction and subsequent client life cycle.
Note: Often certain general behaviors can be set at Product level, but then overriden for a particular contract by settings selected at the more specific Contract level.
When you first enter Plimus you have nothing to sell.
You have to create your first product so that you can begin selling and have up to 7 days to verify your account email.
Click the New Product button to begin setting up your first product.
(1) Add Product Name.
(2) Add URLs where you provide product information and trial downloads if applicable.
(3) Include a short description of the product and longer description with more information about the product.
(4) Set a price. You may also set a minimum quantity that people can buy.
These fields can be revised whenever you wish.
(5) When you hit Submit the product information is saved.
A default Contract for this product is automatically created called "Full Version." It is ready to be renamed as you require, and for its default settings to be revised in accordance with your requirements.
Click on the contract named Full Version and you are taken to the Contract Settings page where you can then set up the settings for your contract, such as contract name, price, period of availability, download file, and marketing settings.
This contract also includes a default BuyBow page link to the order page for selling this item.
You are now ready to proceed to the next Tutorial - an essential lesson series covering Contracts.
