Step-by-Step Tutorial

Access the Order Email Settings from the Contract Page

The Order Mail settings are specific to your contract so you need to access them from the top of your Contract settings page.

A Working Default Order Email is Provided

A default order Email template is automatically provided containing the most essential settings, including:
(1) Your customer's information.
(2) The quantity ordered and the product and contract names.
(3) Your Vendor/Developer name and email (NB: the reference to Developer refers to the Vendor).

Why Should I Customize the Order Email?

There are several reasons and they relate to the respective transaction.

If you are providing software or a game it makes sense to include information about licensing and product downloads.
Note: You will need to have already set these up to include them in the Order Email.

If you are selling a subscription it is a good idea to provide an account set up and log in element for your customers to track their account status, amounts paid and to update their credit card information as time goes by. You use the <Account ID> tag for this.

For most transactions, it makes sense to include an invoice link and to personalize the text.

Adding Additional Text and Tags

Input free text and the relevant Tags to construct an effective Email for your customers.
You can use HTML but the emphasis should be on clarity and good scripting rather than design.

In the above example we added some personal text plus PlimusTags for licence keys, download URL, License Agreement, and Invoice URL.
Remember to Save your work using the Submit button.

Conduct a Test Sale or Use the Sandbox to Review Your Work

So that you can test the complete order flow we suggest that you conduct a test sale which you can later refund, or build up your settings in using a free Plimus Sandbox account for this exercise. When satisfed just copy your settings to your live account.
