With their fully-licensed software in hand, and a serial number that may be used to unlock it, your end-user is now ready to legally use your product. But how do you stop them from simply shipping both software and serial number to their friends? Or, worse yet, posting it to a Crack site?

Through the Plimus Piracy Protection program (an included service for Plimus vendors), you can define how frequently a serial number may be used. In other words, if you want lots of copies out there while your product gathers momentum, by all means allow serial numbers to be activate many times. But once you're in full revenue mode, ratchet the dial back and ensure customers are only using what they paid for.

The challenge comes when a legal user upgrades their computer - say, by adding a larger hard drive - and wants to re-activate their perfectly legal copy. By integrating Uniloc Device Fingerprinting, the activation server hosted at Plimus will recognize the machine and allow it to activate, even if the serial number has already reached its activation limit.
